Flagship Knoxville at C.R. Smith Museum

I took this picture of the DC-3 "Flagship Knoxville" a couple years ago at the C R Smith museum. I'm sure that most of you have seen the museum, but if by chance you haven't, please drop by. It is a great place to study the history of the greatest airline in the world American Airlines. I also understand, it now is the largest airline.
I remember very well the DC-3 days with American. When I started with the company I was a Fleet Service Clerk. If you aren't familiar with the job I will attempt to explain. When the airplane landed I went out to check with the stewardess and see if she needed anything for the passengers, Towels soap etc. After putting this on board I would dump the "Honey Bucket" which was a square bucket under neath the airplane. Lo and behold it was always running over on arrival. I lowered the bucket down put it on my little cart and go dump it down the open drain.Psssst don't tell the EPA. After a few hours we had lunch in the cafeteria. Of course due to my qualifications it was necessary for me to order a sandwich and sit out side . Down wind of course. But what the heck it was better than shooting twin 50 Caliber machine gus on the B-24. Say hello to the guys out west and write if you find work.Posted by Hello
