Field day for HARC at Eagle Mountain Lake

Field Day 2010 Coming up soon!

June 26 & 27 are the dates for Field Day 2010!

June may seem like a long time away but before we know it field day (FD) will again be upon us. With that in mind, preparations have already begun for FD 2010 with the main objective of generating club spirit through a fun and rewarding effort.

Looking back over the last dozen years of FD scores, it is impressive to see how often PARC has managed to come first in Canada in their entry class. While the last several years have not been quite as productive as we would have liked, the intent for 2010 is to return to those “glory” years of winning efforts and proud participants.

Briefly, we will be moving back to the four transmitter class, running two CW HF and two Phone HF stations. This will be in addition to the GOTA and VHF/UHF stations.

Of paramount importance is a good turn out with lots of participation from club members or non-club members just interested in lending a hand. Band leaders will be compiling a schedule of operating times for operators and loggers so they can be assured of sufficient staffing for each band.

More details will be publicized as we get closer to FD but in the meantime everyone is encouraged to think about where they would most like to participate and then contact the appropriate band leader.
