Swim in the Morning Snow Ski in the Afternoon

Any one venture to guess where we were, when I took this fantastic picture.

Welcome to
Mt. Lemmon

25 miles and 6000 feet above Tucson, Arizona's desert floor you will find a completely different world. As you drive up the beautiful Catalina Highway, you travel through four completely different ecological strata. From stately saguaro cactus at the bottom, to the pine and aspen groves at the top, the drive is incredibly beautiful. Especially interesting along the way, are the many fascinating rock formations.

Located in the Coronado National Forest, Mt. Lemmon, at over 9000 feet, is a wonderful place to get away from the desert heat in the summer, enjoy the changing leaves in the fall, and play in the snow in the winter.

Outdoor activities in the summer include hiking, rock climbing, picnicking, camping, sky rides at Ski Valley and fishing. In the winter, you can leave the warm Tucson climate, go skiing or sledding for the day, and be back in the desert before dark!
